Effective June 1, 2016, significant changes to the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS) have resulted in potential reductions to the Accident Benefits available to individuals involved in motor vehicle accidents in Ontario. These changes will impact all automobile insurance policies issued or renewed after June 1, 2016.
The amendments to the Insurance Act and its regulations, increasing the amount of the statutory deductibles in motor vehicle accident cases, took effect as of August 1, 2015.
